The Centre for Environmental Research and Training (CERT) offers a broad spectrum of multi-disciplinary research expertise, provides a focus for the University of Birmingham's extensive environmental activities and acts as a gateway for external organisations enabling this expertise to be made more widely accessible.
New CERT Biennial Report Launched
The 2009 Biennial Research Report, "Environmental Research at Birmingham - Science for Sustainability", is now available. The report highlights some of the many activities and achievements in environmental research at the University of Birmingham over the last two years.
New Appointments to CERT Advisory Board
Sir John Lawton, Chair of the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution and former Chief Executive of NERC, has agreed to join the CERT Advisory Board. He will be joined by Professor Malcolm Press, Head of College of Life and Environmental Sciences, and Professor Nigel Weatherill, Head of College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, who are also new appointments to the Board.
